My fiance and I have yet to get my engagement ring insured (and yes I know how unwise that is), we have been swamped and the estimates we have gotten have been as high as $100 a month. I am on the east coast outside Philadelphia. Any suggestions or recommendations??

Who are you trying to insure it with for $100 a month?!?! Unless your ring costs upwards of 100k, I would expect it to be closer to $100 a year!

Most people add their ring as a rider on their homeowners insurance. This is usually the easiest way and cheapest way to go. However, some people, like myself, opt to go with a separate company like Jeweler''s Mutual. JM insures the ring for about 1-2% of the appraisal value per year and covers against all kinds of theft and loss. Just do a quick search on here for insurance and you''ll have more info than you know what to do with! Chubb is another great compnay that writes separate policies for jewelry. Hope that gives you a starting point at least. Let us know if you have any more questions!

thanks both of you. it was actually geico and no my ring is not upwards of 100k but I was told that insurance would be 10% of my rings cost per month. I know it was an insanely high estimate and some of my friends only pay 10-25$ a month but was unable to find (and honestly didnt have time to search as i was finishing up law school and studying for the bar) but know I am. So totally going to call these people. thanks a bunch
