Does anyone know about insuring a diamond and if so any ideas who are the best companies, etc. I read in the forum that it's best to do this before getting it set. Just incase something happens. Since it's a loose diamond at the moment.
I don't know which companies will insure a loose diamond...I believe that is rare. Many people like Chubb. They have an agreed value policy so if you lose your set diamond, you can get cash back to spend as you wish. Jeweler's Mutual is another good company. Policies are sold through the jeweler from whom you made your purchase. In the event of a loss, they will send you back to your jeweler to get your diamond/ring replaced.
