insurance HELP please

ok. so my BF and i have the diamond and it''s being set into the setting as i type (or maybe it''s already done and hidden from my eyes

)
we already have two sets of appraisal papers and are ready to purchase insurance. we checked on chubb''s website for the closest agents to my area (Louisiana). we called all 3 of them. 2 of the numbers were wrong. anyway. so BF also called chubb''s direct line and asked about a stand alone jewelry policy. they told him that they their policy is only to insure OVER $50,000!!! WTF?? they proceeded to give my BF the same numbers that didn''t work from there website and told him to try calling one of these agents.

we really want to go with Chubb and i know lots of people have problems from the get-go but find a solution.

PLEASE- someone- help. advice. options. answers. something?? we can''t be walking around with an uninsured diamond (my dream) ring!

Search for the threads on Chubb. I remember seeing some agents names and phone numbers who will do the policy. But you have to make sure that they have a license to practice insurance in your state.

Also, are you choosing Chubb because of the cash payout? If not, consider Jewelers Mutual.

yes the cash out options is a huge plus for us.

i remember reading somewhere on PS that there was an agent that was certified in each state, but i can''t find it again. did i just imagine it??
