How does insurance work if you have more than one piece? My new e-ring is appraised at over 10k, the old one, under 5k. I would like to insure both....can they go on one policy or...? Sorry, new to the idea of jewelry insurance..

Or, for the less valuable stuff, should I contact my homeowners?

You can definitely put more than one stone on a policy. We just insured my e-ring and our wedding bands with USAA.

Same here- my ering and wedding band are both insured under USAA

You can insure multiple jewelry pieces on one policy, either on your homeowners policy or on a stand-alone jewelry policy. In either case, you should schedule the jewelry pieces, which means that you list the individual items with a retail replacement price for each. For our company, we ask for a full description of each item, which is provided in an insurance evaluation or appraisal. This assures that your jewelry can be repaired or replaced with the same kind and quality if you have a loss.

There are some variations on that theme with homeowners and other jewelry insurers, but that’s a bit more complicated.

I have a bunch of things on my insurance. What I have is a personal articles policy with state farm. Each piece has an appraisal and is itemized on my policy with a line item description. And State farm has one copy of apprasial for each and I have a copy.

I also include a copy of any diamond certs I have with the appraisal. So if my AGS Ideal diamond is lost I can replace it identically. Also, desginer names are listed. If my vatche setting is damaged or stolen I don''t want a generic replacement! I also have a cash out policy so I can choose my own jewler. Or in case of inherited jewlery I would get cash out if I decided not to replace it.
