Does it make a real difference if your stone is inscribed or not? If you have the certificate, what does additional benefit does having the stone inscribed provide? Is this more for insurance purposes?

If you don''t have any identifiable inclusions, it helps easily verify that your stone is your stone, should you leave it somewhere to have work done.

I had mine inscribed when I had it appraised. To be honest, I have an easier time identifying my diamond by looking for it''s inclusions that I do finding the inscription on the girdle, lol!

I think it would be useful to identify your diamond when it has the inscription on it. I read somewhere that now they even laser engrave your secret message on the girdle besides the certificate number. It shouldn''t effect the quality at all...
