Does anyone have any input on this stone? Can you value it?

Those look real good..couple questions about online diamonds...so you obviously buy the diamond and setting seperate...what is the cost to get the stone set properly? And what type of replacement and lifetime warranty can you get with that compared to a retail jeweler I just feel a bit uneasy about spending that money on a ring if I don't have a company that I can get in the car and drive to that would replace a stone that falls out with equal value....any thoughts?

It depends on where you purchase from. With some online vendors, if you buy a diamond and setting from them there may not be any fee to set it. There could be a fee if you purchase a diamond from one vendor and send it in to be set by another. As far as I know, the online dealers do not offer lifetime replacement or warranties. Most have a 30-day return policy and upgrade programs though. Warranty type things would need to be covered under the insurance policy that you should take out on the ring.

Any reputable jeweler can replace a stone if it falls out. You should take the ring to a jeweler from time to time to have it checked. They don't just service merchandise they sell; they will be happy to help you too. Your homeowner's or stand alone insurance policy will replace the cost of the ring/and or stone if it should be lost or damaged.

If you are thinking about the claims from some of the jewelry chains to fix or repair a ring or stone, this doesn't apply in this case. However, you will not find the quality stone you are looking to purchase at a mall store. While rings and stones do break from time to time, it is rare and not worth getting subpar merchandise to get their guarantee. The amount that you may have to pay for some prong repair or something will certainly be offset by the savings you will find with online vendors.

Like anything else though, a checkup of your ring will hopefully keep large repair bills at bay by being proactive in finding any problem area (loose prongs, etc.) that might arise. Insurance is a must to be able to wear and enjoy any jewelry without worries - unless you are in a position to be able to replace the item on your own.
