How are Ingwer settings? Anyone recommend or not recommend them? I am looking at a simple setting with side trillions in particular. They seem very reasonable but I am curious about their quality.

My alternative is a setting from Dimend Scaasi - well, package I suppose since I need to get the diamond from them as well. But they do have something that fits the bill.

So, any recommendations, one way or the other? Anyone have an Ingwer setting they can post snaps of? Their photos are not the best.

Thanks in advance.

as far as I know that make a fine product. many jewelers can easily get in the settings and they are nice for the price.

Ingwer castings are usually fairly good, we sell a lot of them. HOWEVER!!!!!! Do not let Ingwer do the setting. Their setting work varies from excellent to absolute (expletive deleted).

Your best bet is to get the package from your diamond vendor and let him take the responsibility for setting the stone correctly. Even if it costs you a few dollars more, the time and extra work it will take to get the job done elsewhere is seldom worth the little amount of money you might save.

If you’re already buying a diamond from Scaasi and have a particular Ingwer mounting that you want, send them a link and tell them your wishes. Most jewelers can get Ingwer goods and by buying the stone, the mounting and the labor from the same place you avoid the opportunity for fingerpointing later if there are any problems.

Thank you everyone! I wasn''t considering the Ingwer from Dimend Scaasi. They have a setting I am well pleased with there - but it is the part where I have to get the whole package there when I really have my eye on another diamond elsewhere.

The place with the diamond is where the Ingwer would come from. I just am not sure about the settings site unseen. The pics on the Ingwer site are not great and with no returns on settings, that isn''t great. But I trust you pro''s that if the quality is good, then it is an option.

Thanks again.

They are good quality but need some work out of the box to show their true potential.
They are rather rough out of the box from the ones I have seen but with some work they are great.
The first time I saw one I was like yuck but the Jeweler had just thrown a stone in one with no work on the setting.
I then saw one that my setting guy had worked on and was far more impressed.
Stress that you want the setting cleaned up.
They keep prices low by avoiding a ton of handwork on the setting as it comes from them.
Most people don''t notice it or don''t know better so they don''t miss it but a detail person will spot it.
