Hi Daisy Diamond, thanks. I assumed it was nothing particularly rare. I just don't want to melt it if it has special collector value or is 100 years old for example. It's probably not too old, but I don't know enough to make the definition. It has a wheat brand style, 100 of little shreds woven together. I will research more and see what happens.
have you done a Google image search? you may find lots of similar bracelets if not exact. My guess would be from the 1970's or so, but that's just a guess.
It’s a fairly typical example of a mesh link bracelet. They are sort of based on watchband bracelets. Popular 60s through 80s.
585 is for 14k, so more likely European or Asian origin as they tend to use the numeric assay rather than than “ct” or “k”.
Definitely worth more than melt value, at least 20% more on a resale site like EBay. Mind you, you have to pay fees to sell but still better than melt value.
You’ll get your worst price offer from a pawnbroker, often jewellers pay closer to spot than most. So shop around if you go the meltdown route.
Yeah won't be selling it on eBay, too many fee's and hassles. The v1 is most likely from Spain, I discovered with a little more research. I realized it's not very unique or rare. I'll get a few opinions from some old school Jewlers, and be done with it. Thanks for the info all.
