My understanding is that the 1st year of insurance is covered by Crafted By Infinity. Is based off an independent appraisal? Is it for the stone only? Should I get an independent appraisal done before having this stone set?

This is what Wink''s website says about the Infinity insurance (I bought my Infinity from him):

“Fully Covered” Insurance: Infinity covers one year of true replacement insurance for your “Crafted By Infinity” diamond through the Touchstone Insurance Agency. At the end of one year you may be eligible to renew this policy at a competitive rate upon inspection of the article. Ask us for details; it’s all included in your purchase."

Which Infinity dealer are you working with? They should be able to tell you how the insurance works.

Thanks Sarah! Did you get it appraised when you purchased?

No, I didn't have my Infinity 1.0 M SI2 appraised when it was loose, but I will after the diamond is set in its setting (Wink is custom designing my setting for me and it will be a few more weeks until I get it).

I did have my first Infinity stone, my .53 J VS2, appraised when it was loose, though.

I think it's worth having it appraised while it's loose, especially if this is your first major jewelry purchase. It's a very informative process; my appraiser walked me through the steps of the appraisal as she was doing it. I learned alot.

I believe there's a link to appraisers on the PS toolbar under Resources. Make sure the person you take it to is an independent appraiser, not someone who has his/her own jewelry business.

I forgot to ask an important question of you! So I take it you''ve seen the Infinity??? And you liked it??? We must have details!

Seeing it in 1 hour!!

You must be excited -- we''ll expect a full report -- with pictures, if you can get them (might not be possible in the store, but you never know!).
