Hey guys:

I feel great today! For a long time I have been contemplating taking that major step in my life and today I have decided to propose to my girlfriend. We have been together for the last 2 years and I finally think I met the one. Here is where I need some advice, I need to buy an engagement ring and I don''t know where to start at.

I been doing a lot of research and now I am little worried about quality and price. I found a few articles online about how to buy it and I thought this site was pretty interesting regarding the whole buying in a retail store rather than online.

What do you guys think? Any advice for someone desperately seeking to please the love of his life.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi, Welcome to Pricescope!

If your first contact with diamond buying is the AGS website, then you''re starting off on the right foot!. Here are some basic things to consider:
What sort of ring would your girlfriend like? This could mean something very simple or something more elaborate, vintage style or modern, etc.
You may want to look though the eye candy thread here in SMTR to get an idea of styles.

What size/shape diamond are you interested in? Different cuts provide different types of sparkle and very different looks. What you''ll find here is that the cut of a stone is the single largest contributing factor to how it looks. Comparing certified stones rated by AGS or GIA you can filter out poorly cut stones and feel secure purchasing/selecting a well-cut stone online.

Will your girlfriend be involved in this process?

What is your budget? Beautiful rings can be found at an price point, so pick a number that''s comfortable for you.

Finally, you''ll get more help by posting in Rocky Talky, you can use the "message admin" at the top right to ask Andrey to move your thread.

Congratulations and good luck!
