So I saw a stone yesterday that was a 1.24 ct round. I do not have the specs on it but... Here is what it looked like to the eye.
G in color. Cut was very good. Of all the diamonds I had seen this one looked just beautiful to my eye. Except one thing. It had an inclusion in it that was easily seen. it was located near the edge of the diamond on top face up. The jeweler had his designer look at it and he thought it could be covered easily by prongs reaching slightly over the diamond in a setting that I showed him that I was considering.
It was priced at 4200. Now, I have not come a crossed this size stone at this price. Is it because of the inclusion that is so readily seen?
Side view you had to look hard to see it. A setting would easily hide it or distract from that angle. Only face up. Now the size of this diamond got my heart all a flutter. The price as well. However, what do you all think of the inclusion? Should I be concerned?
This was our first time in this store. I make a habit of walking away when I get to excited as I don''t want to impulse buy anything when it comes to diamonds.
If you all need more info I would have to go back for it. I am wondering though if it is worth another look? I know if this could not be hidden by the setting I would in no way be interested.
This would not be an example of a feather that can crack would it?
Any thoughts?
