In which lighting conditions, are bowties (in pears) seen most easily?

Ifm going to see a coupe pairs of pears for my setting soon, and wanted to know in what lighting condition, I would see the bowties in the pears most easily. They are very small (0.5 total ct.), so Ifm thinking that it may be hard to observe bowties in some lighting conditions. I wanted to make sure I look at them under appropriate light in order to evaluate the bowties in the pears. Thanks,

they''re big black and awful - you will see them right away. now, don''t go looking for bowties that aren''t there.

Ask to see them in direct sunlight.

Stand facing the diamond with as flat white diffused light above and behind you as possible.

You are the bow tie.
To see a marquise or pear without a bow tie - put a small peep hole in a sheet of copy paper and the bow tie will dissappear.
You are the source of darkness that creates the bow tie.

eg Facing the diamond with a large window to diffussed daylight (not ever direct sunlight as someone suggested) above or behind you will get a great result.

If you wear dark clothes the bow tie can appear larger / worse.

Move the stone closer and further away to check the difference - but use a standardised length - that can vary depending on the brightness of the lighting in different stores etc.
