Many thanks to Christina & Diamondseeker for steering me away from a near-purchase with DCI. Christina suggested I ask for help here in finding a new stone.

I'm looking for a round engagement ring -- my absolute condition is that it be conflict-free guaranteed. Beyond that, I don't have a strict budget -- I'm more interested in finding something that matches these general specs.

Shape: Round Brilliant
Cut: Excellent
Carat: 1.25-1.49
Clarity: VS1/VS2
Color: H/I
Ring: Platinum band with six-prong Tiffany setting

If anyone has any leads or suggestions, I'd very much appreciate it. Thank you!

A few ideas:

1.3 H VS2 AGS triple 0 for $8,865 w/PS discount: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1458715.asp
In this: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/diamond-solitaire-rings.html

1.29 H VS2 AGS triple 0 for $11,920 wire price: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9020/
Lots of settings options, they are a Vatche dealer so Vatche U-113 (I think) would be closest to Tiffany 6-prong solitaire.

1.26 I VS AGS triple 0 for $9,688 PS wire discount: http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2676035.htm

1.2 I VS1 AGS triple 0 for $10,011 (I think they have a PS discount, too, have to ask, though!): http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.204-i-vs1-round-diamond-ags-1040399230035

I don't think you could go wrong with any of these vendors, and there are others to choose from, too, but just some ideas to get you going!

Here's a few...I forgot to check the girdles....check to see if they are very thin. Would need to have
the gemologist look at very thin and make sure it wasnt an issue. JA will give you up to 3 free ideal
scope/aset images.

Edit - some of these may be the same as Rubybeth posted...we were posting at the same time.

Hi Hipolito :wavey: I see you've gotten some really great choices already! You had mentioned earlier about wanting a stone with a trade in/upgrade/return policy and only wanted to purchase a stone that was guaranteed to be conflict free. I thought that I would link this information from each of the vendors so you would be able to consider those programs along with the diamonds that have been recommended. Obviously each vendors policy is slightly different, I hadn't given that much thought when I made my first purchase, but having just recently upgraded I'm better able to appreciate the subtle differences between each vendors policies, and it's wise to take them into consideration, especially if you plan to upgrade at some point in the future.

Brian Gavin

James Allen

Good Old Gold

Of course these vendors only sell conflict free stones and I believe that GOG even send certification that the diamond is a conflict free diamond, but you would have to confirm this.
When are you planning on proposing? Its a good idea to do it well within the return period for the diamond just in case she had her mind set on a different shape or setting etc...
