I made a trip to the jeweler today to look at 3 sided pave bands with matching wedding band. I absolutely adored the look and I really really really want it! The jeweler and I went back and forth trying to negotiate a price and in the end I told him I would sleep on it. It is .72 carats and the pave goes 3/4 around the band. I asked if the pave went half way around the band could he bring the price down any further and he said he could go down another $100. Do you think $100 is worth it? I don't want to have buyers remorse again as I am having now with this halo! So I'm really trying to take my time and really think this decision through and get some thoughts on it. So should I just keep it at 3/4 or have them make the pave 1/2 on the band and pay $100 less...I was hoping more would come off but they wouldn't budge any further and neither would I. PS Experts please help?

I would wait. Forget overnight. Wait at least a couple weeks. That setting isn't going to disappear. And no, 100 isn't worth it. And is weird. Keep trying things on.

I think I would leave it at 3/4. I like the look of it and $100 isn't that much of a savings in the grand scheme of things, considering you're going to be wearing this ring for a long time. You might as well get the setting you really love. JMO!

Agreed- 100 isn't enough of a savings to go down to 1/2 eternity

I would only buy a mount like that from one of the really reputable makers because otherwise, if is likely just lost pave waiting to happen! Scott kay, Ritani, Tacori, Engagement Rings Direct, BGD, WF... all make really nice pave. You pay for it though.

I SO agree with this advice and the advice to WAIT and take your time! You'd really have to baby a ring like that no matter who made it.

I have to agree with the others as well and no, $100 is not worth reducing the pave from one half to three quarters. I think the advice to make sure a reputable maker would be making this ring is sound; otherwise, the ring could be in the shop every other month having a stone replaced. You generally get what you pay for!

+1 on the "$100 isn't worth it"
+1 on the wait and keep searching
+1 on babying pave

I'd also say to wait. It's a lovely ring but boy, all the pave just looks like stones would be missing every other day. I'd be nervous to wear something like that as an e-ring no matter who made it. If you do stick with that style, definitely go with a very reputable ring maker!!

Gypsy- Thank you, I didn’t think it was worth it either and it did seem weird but I just wanted to be sure it just wasn’t me. He did mention that he gave me a great deal on my current setting (halo) and I have to agree, he really did. Maybe I've ran out "deal cards" from being so indecisive

Junebug17- The jeweler said the same thing, but I just figured he was trying to “sell” me so that is why I wasn’t “totally sold”. Thank you!

Amys Bling - Thank you!

Dreamer_D - Thanks! The jeweler is pretty popular because of their great reputation in my area and it’s not a mall chain. They have a life time guarantee on repairs and cleanings at no additional cost on all their jewelry. Of all the settings I've gotten from them I've never had any problems, and whenever I've had questions they've always been very nice.

Diamondseeker2006 - Thank you! I truly plan to take my time this time…this has been quite the learning experience for sure. I have a desk job and I still "baby" this halo eventhough I don't want it anymore so having to "baby" the pave is definitely not a problem or a worry to me :)

MissGotRocks, Enerchi and mrssalvo- Thanks!
