In depth ASET evaluations

Hello - I've spent some time reading these boards and also websites explaining the various things to look for in an ASET image. I understand the significance of red/green/blue + black/white but still don't have an expert eye for the minute details. I was hoping one of the pros on this board could point out the positives and negatives from these ASET images, to help me figure out which is the best diamond. They are all the same carat/color/clarity. Thanks!

Yes, I know they are nearly identical. I just want to understand things like does the intensity of red color matter, are there better areas for green to show than others, is darker blue netter than lighter, etc.

The variations in color (black vs dark blue, etc) are potentially differences due to set-up, or they could be real differences due to very small variations in angles and proportions. It's impossible to know here.

If you put these diamonds next to each other, you would probably not be able to tell them apart.

If you want to get into extreme minutia, the first would be my preference--it has some additional contrast areas right between the base of the arrows (those dark dots), and the little dark blue triangles between the arrows are biggest. These will create some extra scintillation, but that is so incredibly slight as to not be readily noticeable unless you really critically examined them.

I would avoid the first diamond for the same reasons that teobdl likes it. I would worry that extra contrast near the center of the diamond is going to darken it slightly - the lovely arrows should provide enough contrast as it is.

However, in real life a diamond in a ring is a very dynamic object, constantly moving, winking and flashing, you won't always be seeing it flat face up at 200x magnification.

At this point we are really splitting hairs. All three are gorgeous stones and all of them will be absolutely stunning in person.

Which one do you like? Buy that one.

I am not seeing anything in the ASETs to prefer one over another.
All 3 pass, move on to other considerations.
