i have an ugly diamond on my hands, or hand i should say.
my husband bought me a 1.33 carat RB from (i shudder to say it) Zales.
it came with a GS Laboratories grading.
Color: F
Clarity: I-1
Pol/Sym: Good/Good
Meas: 6.83 x 6.79 x 4.48mm.
i have had it since april of this year. at first i was ok with the diamond but the longer i had it the more i realized the inclusions. the diamond has a ton of black inclusions. some thread like and others just tiny spots.
i didn''t notice the bad cut straight away either (we didn''t do any homework, unfortunately.) over time of course the dark spots, due to cut, are also giving me daily headaches. the cut makes the stone looked chipped in some angles and in pictures.
here is the kicker. we spent over 6 grand on it. it''s almost amusing.
would it even be worth trying to sell? where would i even sell this kind of stone?
i don''t want to upgrade the stone because i obviously don''t trust the store.
i would love to be able to get even half the money out of it but is that reasonable?
i could keep it but i have already scrutinized the stone to death. i don''t think it holds much appeal.
just welcoming comments here
thank you for listening. i will be needing real guidance in future diamond purchases and i hope to use this wonderful forum
i am planning to buy 2 sets of 1CTW solitaire earrings and also (obviously) a 1.5 RB solitare for the wedding stone
also i will post pictures soon of the above mentioned stone, i would love to share the grit
