Bear with me but i would like to hear from u guys... I have few diamonds... all of them are 1/4 ct...

Round brilliant cut natural diamond .24ct vs-2 treated fancy greenish blue- cut- good

whats the value for this one?

Ill share with u guys how and where i get it from and all that... I get it wholesale and the prices are not so bad... But i wud like to know whats the price for this one...

I would like to hear it from Rich... :)

i understand, leave the price out of this but is it good benefit to have it or its not?

anything should i know about it? any negetives about it?

it's impossible to know if there are any negatives without knowing more than it's a treated greenish blue VS good cut. what sort of negatives are you looking for?

i would suggest you take them to an appraiser, an expert who can look at the actual stones rather than just a vague description online.

I second what Mara said. A certified gemologist Appraiser will be able to evaluate the stones and answer your questions. Good luck.
 
diamonds are a bad investment. stop, because you don''t know enough.

i wouldn''t buy a treated stone. have you been able to sell any of these stones?
 
First rule of investing by Deco: Study up a whole lot before you purchase ANYTHING.

IMO "Buying stuff" is a far, far cry from "investing".

Would third or fourth or fifth the suggestion to consult an appraiser as to the value of what you already have. And not to buy anything else.

I paid only 100 dollars each 1/4 ct... and all is in good cut and VS2

???

One thing i want to know about COLOR issue- its fancy colour is it good or should i get from between D to Z only? or fancy colour is still good with that kind of price?

OK from now on i will avoid treated fancy colors...

BUT the appraiser offered me 650 dollars for that one and i bought it for 100?? but i knew the more less color the more value go up and more popular...
 
Okay so you paid 100 bucks for them. They are treated... and the experts on here that might have useful information are not here... or else they would have replied.

Either be patient and wait to see if they post on this subject for you. Or find an appraiser in your area and go to them for advice.
 
I have already took it to appraiser they like it very much and offered some money but i didnt sell it because i wanted to make sure i wasnt ripped off by them.

I also have si1 very light fancy brown the cut is good.

Ill work on getting between D to N with the same price. If that is, will it be better than what i have now?

By the way, I reserched alot! Im still learning and thats why we shd be grateful to have pricescope so we can have those kind of feedbacks and all that instead of one head feedback.

exactly thats why im here to see what kind of feedbacks i would get from u.

I was hoping to see if i have benefits from u guys but i guess not. Like gyspy mentioned, experts are not here now so i ll just wait til tomorrow and see what they can give me better benefits...

Because i mentioned investment at first, all of u said it was bad investment and all that...

I expected better than that.

Like ask me some questions or saying depends on and all that.

again, investment means i dont expect to buy and sell right away. I wanted to buy alot and save it until my kids grow up my older one is only 8 so i expect to save it for other 10 years...

i have like 10 of them i plan to get 20 to 30 of 1/4 ct and other 10 to 20 of 1/2 ct... and leave it in safebox for other 10 years... or is there a better way?

I also invest gold and silver... They are awesome!

I am an expert and since you asked, I''ll inform you.


A. Prices for treated diamonds depend on the type of treatment. Generally these are cyclotron irradiated. This generally is not done unless the diamond is already an undesirable color. Muddy brownish, grey or dingy yellow colors that are intense enough of a hue and saturation to be called fancies. In other words, the diamonds that get treated aren''t as salable untreated. Prices for these type stones vary with the resultant color of the treatment, which can substancially vary. There are some treated diamonds that do command some higher prices, but that is dependent on how unusual the resultant color is. Saturate blues, reds or pinks would probably top the price list. But bluish green or greenish blue stones are common colors resulting from treatment.

B. By the carat, you paid $ 400.00 per carat and were told it was "wholesale". I am puzzled that an qualified appraiser, would offer you amost $ 2900.00 per carat, when the wholesale price was $ 400.00. This does not make much sense to have such a spread in price. Plus $ 2900 p/c for a 0.24 carat stone would generally have to be a darn fine quality diamond. Search the Pricescope listing for diamonds that are 0.24-0.26 carats, of vs clarity or better and I think you''ll find that colorless ones, are priced lower than the appraiser''s offer. Common logic tells you something is wrong here.

C. Are you sure the appraiser didn''t offer you $ 650 per carat? That would make more sense.

D. Keep in mind that independent appraisers won''t buy things from you.

E. Nothing wrong with natural fancy color diamonds, but to achieve proper selling prices, they need to be confirmed as untreated by the GIA.

However, that said I totally agree with Dancing.. If the appraiser wants to pay $ 650 for a 0.24 carat stone, and you can buy them for a $ 100.00 per stone, it would interesting to see if he would buy this stone, and be willing to pay the same prices on an ongoing basis.
