I'm confused.. How do you interpret actual diamond images..

Hey PSers,

How do you read the actual diamond images? I understand that you are looking at the color, cut, and clarity; but why do many of the zoomed in images look so different from each other even when they have very similar specs? Take for example this diamond: It looks, at least to me, that it has better symmetry compared to the second image. The second image has a very bright white center/table.. Is that whiteness a good thing? I have seen the word "milky" used to describe diamonds, is that what the white represents in the second image?

Color: H
Clarity: VS2
Certificate: AGS
HCA: 1.7
Price: $7000

You do not. The lighting conditions are different, basically the image tells you very little.

We really only do it with fancy cuts to evaluate faceting. With round brilliants you need more than images.
