Chicago Gem Lab is more of what I think of in terms of a traditional appraiser; knowledgable gemologist sitting down with a client and going over the ins and outs of a piece and using some equipment.
I think of Pro Gem as more of a "technical/scientific" operation. Lots of equipment and deep analysis going on there.

Thank you for the response. I have a pricing question now. My friend supposedly contacted Sookie and asked the price, and she said it would be $65 for the first item and $25 for each additional item. Now I think the last time I had an appraisal done it was $75 per item, but I would never ever use them again, and I am not sure if this pricing is a little too cheap.gg21
