Hi, if a diamond has an excellent IGI grading at a good price, but the grading is 10 years old, can there be any reason to keep the hands off??

Thanks Thomas

It is a very good idea to check all old reports to be sure the diamond is the right one, that the stone is still in original condition, and that there is no monkey business with the grading.....

A great diamond never changes, but the paperwork can be incorrect or wrong. A poor diamond can become attached to much better paperwork. There are many possible problems with acting blindly.

thomas,
the only thing you sohuld do is go with the stone to any appraiser or gemologist to get it authenticated.
i would also get it updated at igi.
all the best, robbe
