That is in Houston???!!! That is unreal. I have to say. My kitchen has like 2 pots in the sink, and 4-5 drinking glasses, and my coffee cup from this morning on the counter... and the dishes from dinner are still on the table... and I think THAT is messy.

I don''t think I''ll click on the link. I''m too scared I''ll see something that disturbs me. I feel sorry for those people. I hope they don''t have kids.

Physical stuff - like cleaning, and moving things from place to place - is just so darn time-consuming. It takes up so much of my day!
I can see why people just... wish not to bother. But yuck!

I visited at a house once that was a ''severe poverty'' type place. This woman had five kids, a single mum. They lived in an absolute shell of a house, with a bunch of dogs and no sheets on their mattresses. Their furniture was pallets and shopping crates. They had no fridge, or even any cupboards. I felt very sad, there was no refuge or comfort for anyone in that place.

Mind melting, really.

No, my guess is that her toilet backed up and that she used toilet paper and clothes to try and sop it up.
Apparently she (it is a she, mid-fourties) has two cats that had been given away to someone else. So no dead kitties there, thank goodness!

I agree with you there, it looks very similar to "hoarding". How sad! I hope the person gets some medical/professional help. And I hope the landowners are insured!
