I wouldn't want to own a $50K vehicle as I'd be too paranoid it'd get dinged up and all that, but if it had to be an "item" then I'd go for a car. Otherwise, I'd buy some sort of CD and hold onto that until we found a house we liked then put that $ down on the house.
