When I have dinner guests, I usually give then three or four choices of fare.

it would be very rude in Chinese culture.

I see, I never ask what the host is serving. I will say, is there anything I can bring?? If she served something I didn''t like, I would do my best to try it, unless I was allergic.

One of my best friends is deathly allergic to shell fish... We have been to many dinners with them, where she can''t eat a thing.. Charity Gala''s and the like. I always feel so bad for her.
