What I''m wondering is that for those of you that have an eternity style e-ring or w-band does the color of your center stone match the color of the diamonds in your rings. Please include the color of your center stone as well as the color of your melee or pave stones. If the colors are different please state whether or not you can tell the difference. For example my center stone is F my eternity w-band has F color (according to appraisal) stones in it but I wonder if had a "J" center stone whether or not it would be noticeable. This will help me decide how low in color to go for future cener stone upgrades (not even married yet and I''m already talking upgrades.....I''m bad

my melee in my rings are E/F/G and my center stone is J. the melee are 2 and 3 pointers and my center is 2.32. you can''t see one whit of difference.

my girlfriend has an eternity with 1 pointers for melee and i believe they are around F/G as well and her center stone is a K. no difference visually.

melee that size are just too tiny to show any color difference against a center stone IMO. i think you''d need to get pretty far into the light yellows aka N/O/P to see difference with melee in a band.

I wear an eternity band with my set, and sometimes as the wedding band of the set. It is 3ctw, g color. I have had two different stones in my ering since owning this eternity band and they have been E and now H. I have not noticed any significant difference--neither stood out as being a different color than the band....and the first was an emerald cut, which does not hide its color. The center stone I have now is a pear. Neither made me stop and think there was a mix of colors.

HI:

Before I upgraded, I wore a 1.46 solitare (F color) and an 2.30 ctw eternity ring (G/H/I colors). IMHO, there was not any discernable difference in color--it all just looked "white".

cheers--Sharon

Thanks for the replies. Now I know not to worry about staying in the colorless range and can feel free to dive into the near colorless range for upgrades in the future.

Well-cut near colorless stones are something to behold. I have found that it is worth it to pay a little more for a good cut (not as much as going up a color) and it makes all the difference.

My center is a D and the melee are F. I can see no difference whatsoever.

Just wanted to chime in here. My center stone is an F and the little tiny pave accents are I/J, and I can''t see a difference. However, kristydarling has a three stone ring with an H center and H pears and she thinks the pears look a little different and lower in color than the center stone since fancy cuts seem to show color more. I would only worry about this with large sidestones, not with small ones.
