If you have a plain wedding band do you wear it to bed?

I don't wear my own wedding band to bed, but I wear my maternal grandmother's wedding band (plain 14k yellow gold) on my pinky all the time. In the shower, doing chores, gardening, sleeping, etc. It's out of round, but I don't care. It doesn't come off. :))

I wear mine all the time. I don't worry about it getting damaged like I would a diamond band.

No, I cannot sleep with any jewelry on my body. I take everything off (jewelry that is :cheeky: ) when I come home.

Yes, I wear either my plain YG original wb or my RG spacer as a wb. Either one, makes my finger look slimmer! Looking slim, in my world, is a VERY GOOD THING! :D

50/50. IF I was already wearing it all day anyway, probably yes. But I don't make an effort typically to put it on after I have taken all three off. The only time I wore my rings to bed was when my husband was in a health situation where we seriously didn't think he was going to live. But I didn't move or even sleep that whole night so I wasn't too concerned.

Healthy as he's gonna be. That was 3 years ago. It was freaky!

phew!

Sorry for the diversion, Danny!

Yep. And mine isn't even plain - it's etoile-style. The only time it's been off my finger has been during the last few weeks of pregnancy, when my hands swelled enough to make me nervous about being able to get it off. When I was a kid, I loved looking at my dad's ring: he'd worn it for 20 years+ by the time I was paying attention (42 as of this Saturday!), and I loved the fact that the pattern had worn smooth, and the band had gotten a tad thinner than it used to be, and his finger indented slightly around it. Something about it just seemed really symbolic to me, the idea that this symbol of his marriage was imperceptibly becoming a part of him. That's a lot cooler to me than a pristine piece of jewelry!

my little wedding band is worn 24/7. its 18k yellow gold, plain and about 2mm wide.

yes, i would wear that Cartier band 24/7 as well!

I have two plain bands, I used to wear them both with my old ering. I had one of the bands resized when I lost weight. I wear the bigger band with my ering during the day and the smaller band alone when I'm at home. I like to wear a band at all times even though I can't stand to have on any other jewelry when I'm at home.

No, I don't. My finger gets bigger (swollen) during sleep. If I wear the band to bed, I will see a big dent next morning.

This!

Nope, no rings to bed, plain or otherwise. I worry too much about wearing down the metal or scratching it.

I wear mine 24/7, but it's incredibly comfortable (2.5mm comfort fit heavy dome). It's also like, 3/4 of a size larger to account for swelling. I love it.

I wear mine 24/7. Platinum, 2mm. The thinness is what makes it so easy to wear. It never comes off.

I never ever take off my plain wedding band. It's the one that i got married with and i'm not worried about it being damaged coz i have it repolished every six months and the cost is approximately ten euros, so i'm fine with it. To me it's a very important symbol and it' s supposed to be there always. My husband never takes it off either.

I wear mine all the time, its a 2mm 14K yellow gold..the only time I dont wear it is if I am dressing up and going out, then I wear my 5 stone instead of the plain band :wink2:

I never take mine off. That is precisely why I got a plain band...I don't have to worry about it!

My husband has the same Cartier band and never takes it off ever. I cringe when he wears it to the gym!

I take my wedding band off to sleep. For some reason I can't sleep with any jewelry on.

My husband and I both wear pinky rings as part of our profession. He sleeps with his, and I take mine off to sleep.

As far as wear, his rings are holding up fine.

I actually take my diamond wedding ring off and intentionally put my plain rings on. They just feel so much better.

Yep. I take off all my rings with stones and sleep/shower with only the plain band.

So cool! That's what I wanted to know! I was worried about hurting it. I forgot to take it off the other day. Then I got to thinking I want to do it but I didn't know if it could get bent or scratched! Thanks!

Thanks, everyone!

Enerchi, no worries!

Really? Mine? I won't wear it to the gym because, um, I'm lazy and don't go to the gym! :cheeky:

Hehehehehehehe Danny

I also can't stand to sleep in rings, so I said no. But I wouldn't wear a gold ring 24/7 because the gold wears down over time as it rubs against things.

Haha I don't go either, it would cut in to sleeping time.

I think its the same style...yellow gold classic band. It might be a different width. The sales person in the Oxford Circus location kept on trying to convince us to buy platinum because yellow gold is "so old fashioned." We ended up leaving and buying it at a different location. Love the yellow gold!

I don't wear my rings to bed or while at home at all, actually.

I intentionally got a 2mm plat band so that I could wear it all the time. Most of my other jewelry comes off as soon as I get home and my e ring comes off at bedtime if not before but I keep my plain band on. He has a tungsten band with a small flush set black diamond and never takes it off.
