When do you put up your Christmas decorations?

After Thanksgiving and as soon as I am motivated. I love Christmas!

We always put them up the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Our neighbors put up Christmas lights on the outside of their house yesterday. Crazy early!!!

I have to restrain myself to wait until Thanksgiving, but that is what I do! I loooooove Christmas too

In Adelaide, Australia, we have a christmas pageant the second weekend of November (may sometimes be the first). The tradition is to put up christmas decorations after the pageant, as the pageant signals the start of Christmas.

My family hasn''t really gotten into that tradition much, mostly because my Dad doesn''t like christmas and it was always a battle to get decorations up at all, and now that I have my own house, I am studying for exams for two more weeks, so I will probably put them up after my last exam.

Well, I usually put up my Snowman decorations at the first snow. We had a tiny flurry, but then it got up to 70 so I haven''t gotten them out yet. Sometimes they come out in October, though!

I put up my Christmas decorations ALWAYS on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I put on White Christmas and Grease and I usually work late into the night because I put up my indoor and outdoor decorations that day. This will be the first year in several that I only put up one tree though, so that''ll be a little less work.

Yeah, I''m really excited about Christmas and want to start decorating...guess it will take a few more weeks tho...I was hoping you were all like "we''ve already done it"...so I could justify...

I start decorating right after Thanksgiving (maybe before since it''s so late this year), but I''m already starting to buy Christmas lights and stuff.

I can''t wait! I''m a Christmasaholic.

I have to control myself and wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving. It''s soooooo hard when the stores have had their Christmas stuff out for a couple of weeks now!

Ooooh, I have serious Christmas decoration envy!

I hope you''re all planning on sharing pictures once the decorations go up!

Usually around Thanksgiving... Sometimes before because I just love it!

I drag the tree out the day after Thanksgiving, I put up my parent''s tree and FI''s. Last year I went nuts at Target and bought a TON of Christmas decorations for FI''s house

my birthday is on the 8th so i usually do it around then

I was actually thinking of posting this... because I decorated Sunday!

My justification is that I am a college student, so I will go home over break and won''t get to enjoy my decorations that much in December. Plus I LOVE Christmas!

Pictures! Pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It''s nothing really.. just a small tree that barely stands up by itself(no really, when I got home today, it had fallen on the floor) and a couple of other things... the life of a college student..

the only thing i do anymore is put lights on trees.....4 large redwoods that i buy from a local nursery and have outside where i can see them....and this on the weekend after thanksgiving, weather permiting. however, i already have the bug to have trees with lights. there are some not too large redwoods out the front door and its possible that i will get hubby to decorate those before thanksgiving.

Haven, I promise pictures! I even have a gorgeous red wall to put the tree against, and there will be Christmas lights EVERYWHERE. Plus stockings (1 for me, 1 for BF, and little ones for the cats), a wreath, and did I mention lights?

I can''t wait! I love Christmas time.

Plus...you know...cookies.

The Saturday right after Thanksgiving. We can''t wait to get them up.

We love Christmas here so everything goes up inside and out the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Our "Chanukah Tree" will go up as soon as Thanksgiving is over.

We compromised on a tree with blue, silver, and white decorations that are religiously neutral since I have yet to see Chanukah Christmas ornaments.

YAY Princesss!!!! I can''t wait for pictures!
I used to help a HS friend decorate his tree every year, and I miss that so much!

Elle--Do you put up a Christmas tree with blue and silver decorations? Or is it a different type of tree? Just curious.

Love the holidays!!!

I used to put it all up the day after Thanksgiving. But...

Now I start the weekend before TG. I will do the inside, 2 trees and all the other rooms. Then I might do the outside if time allows.
But this year, I have a feeling it will all be up the weekend before.

I am hosting family for Thanksgiving dinner. Is it rude to have Christmas decor already?
(looks around, nah!!)

This is the first year I get to decorate for Christmas and I can''t wait!

I''m Jewish and I just moved in this past year with my fiance who is Catholic. We are going to decorate the day after Thanksgiving. Last year we bought a ton of decorations at after christmas sales! We got two trees- one 9ft tradtional green tree and another 6ft white tree for 90% off, so we spent $50 instead of $500!

Christmas tree with neutral or Chanukah colored decorations. We also have stockings AND a menorah

FF loves the menorah though -- he thinks its cute when I say the lighting prayers in Hebrew.

Cute, elle! A perfect compromise.

If I''m feeling ambitious, sometimes I put up some decorations Thanksgiivng night. Otherwise, I start the day after and finish sometime that weekend. I love my Christmas decorations. It makes my house look so festive.

I try to get all my decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. I want to enjoy Christmas as long as possible, but I refuse to start before Thanksgiving.

Honestly, I think you should decorate when you want to. In fact, my brother is decorating this weekend! He really enjoys Christmas decorations and feels that having them up for the month of December is not enough, so he wants to start earlier this year. My parents decorate the weekend before Thanksgiving, mainly because of scheduling. I am not sure whether BF and I are decorating, so who knows with us.

If anything, maybe you could slowly put out decorations. My BF's mom does this. She will start introducing decorations toward the end of the 2nd week of November that do not scream Christmas.
