L-you were another person I was referring to. Someone I enjoyed talking to and know enough about that I could easily spill the beans without meaning to. Luckily you clued me in so I knew to watch what I said.
:)) I don't mind when people on PS know who I am (it's just the people IRL who I want to stay anonymous from!), and I had a feeling I was one of the people you could be referring to.

Ha, I didn't realize this was a Mean Girl thread! I didn't think this was started with bad intentions, HH. You're blunt but you're certainly not a Mean Girl. I'm really not sure how this could be seen as a Mean Girl thread, after more thought. You didn't out anyone, and what's mean about asking a question? If the anonymous posters want to remain anonymous, they can refrain from outing themselves in this thread.

I mostly think it's funny that I get to know someone's writing style so well that I can recognize them just from posts on the internet. I'm sure people have their reasons to change names, try to be incognito, etc. I think it's a little silly but oh well.

Edited to elaborate more.

I think T202, that you should go nuts and go incognito as Thing1of2. :rodent:

Ha, but that wouldn't be a new screen name, that would be impersonating someone else-thing1of2 is my twin sister! :cheeky:

Then really throw in a wrench and being Thing3of2. Seuss can turn in his grave!

Well I was planning on editing the post after I had seen you had read it but hadn't counted on you quoting...oops oh well

No worries-I fixed it. Now GET OUT OF HERE! :cheeky:

:Up_to_something: I'm leavin I'm leavin.... lol

I am rubbish at remembering who is who and who said what so this thread is pretty much over my head, but I am happy to report that I think I may have figured out who you are Random! Hi! (<-- that be my proud face)

Lavender - I remember seeing the post where you "outed" yourself, so I knew who you are. Glad you're still with us.

Well I have no clue who anyone is. 8)

I changed my name a weensy bit but kept my account and avatar. If people don't recognize me after 13k posts and the same avatar and basically the same name, then tough tuckus.

Hmmm no, not ringing a bell...maybe if you gave us a clue...something in your avatar perhaps... :cheeky:

Generally we know when someone has changed a screen name or wants a new account. Generally we do not have a problem with this if we are notified in advance. But continually registering new accounts without notifying us, creating multiple accounts or changing accounts often, or creating a new account after having another closed by us may result in further action.

If you suspect that someone has reappeared to stir trouble, please report it to us. Reporting means we will look into it but will not necessarily act, so please do not feel that you only need to report if you have proof.

Thank you for the clarification Ella!

There have been a few people who I thought I recognized but I couldn't figure out who they are. I know one person just let everyone know recently that she'd changed her screen name, and I think it was either for privacy reasons or she had trouble logging in to the new PS. I'm not sure.

Hmmm, RT and Indy -- if it makes you feel any better, I have no idea who you two are/used to be on here. I guess that's the point, right? :))

Lavender -- you were the one I referred to in my first post.

I think I know of one poster who may have changed their name. I suspect (though I haven't confirmed) that it was just because they had gone through a traumatic time and didn't want every interaction on here colored by that. I like the poster very much, and have never said anything. Just in my mind when I see her new screen name I translate it into her old. Works for me. Live and let live.

RT - I followed this close enough that I saw your posts, and I'm just gonna say ::HUG:: and hi ::)

This is my first name here...and if I were to change it, I think I would tell.

You guys are making feel nervous. I hope none of you think I was a previous poster!

autumn - don't feel nervous! And I love your avatar

Thanks, every time I look at it...I just  and wanna eat it :lickout:

Well crap..one I know b/c it was mentioned elsewhere. Had I not seen that, I wouldn't have known. The rest, no. I never did get a Nancy Drew Secret Decoder ring. I'm not so good at detecting.

I'm horrible with things like this. Now I'm going to wonder who I'm actually talking to on here.

I've kept the same name and the same avatar since I joined PS. I typically only recognize people by their avatars, so when people change them it really messes me up, and if I were to change my own I fear I would go into old threads, quote myself, and write "ditto!"

Remember when we all changed to Lorelei's pink shoe? (Was that what it was? I can't remember) I couldn't keep track of who was who, it was like talking to hundreds of the same person.

Ha! I changed my name! I bet none of you can figure out who I am now!!!!!!!

;)

Hey, read this thread, and on a side note thought, hey id like to change mine!
So I used to be betty6333 but will now be marquiseluv.... :naughty:
Just an FYI, and hopefully I am not threadjacking too much

Haven, I agree with you about the avatars. I enjoy your posts and always look for them...in my mind you ARE an Elizabethan cat!

eta: I've been here for more than 7 years with the same avatar and I'm almost up to 500 posts. sad. :snore:
