Ok, just for fun, because the question would be better if you also ask for the minor facets (angle and index).
So cut this one for me:
depth: 59.5%
table: 58%
crown: 33.3°
pavilion: 40.7°
Little depth and quite large table will give us a GREAT spread.
Great HCA too.
That yields a 0.7 EX EX EX EX on the HCA..elusive 4 EX's, and is still above the much-speculated 0.6 HCA loss-of-contrast score....the table is in a sweet spot for me...the depth will most likely ensure a max spread for the stone, and the crown and pav angle are both in the sweet spots.
I think that a lot of us on Pricescope looked at hundreds of diamonds, as I did.
Jonathan gives us a lot of explanations about minor facets, but I want more.
For example, the last very nice diamond I saw in Antwerp had bold arrows (like 8*) but much longer stars than 8*. The crown was very flat (see my last topic about HRD cert) but the diamond had breathtaking fire. The girdle was slightly thicker at the halves, and not only on the upper side (like 8*) but also on the lower.
HCA is a great tool, but it would be great to have more details (minor facets) on certificates and a new HCA for main and minor facets (angle and index).
Of course I would never buy a diamond that scores 3.5 on the HCA, even if the price is very good, but my eyes will always take the final decision when I go shopping for bling bling.
