if i buy after Christmas

Hi guys,

I''ve seen this topic before but just had another question for you veterans. Previous posts say that the best time to buy is from oct-dec because jewelers get a lot more inventory so are willign to sell at lower prices. problem is, i won'' t have enough saved by then. if i plan on buying a ring say feb-march 2007 how much should i expect prices to change? are jewelers willing to negotiate/drop the price after christmas time?

also, i plan on buying a harry winston ring and if i have to make a special trip to the store(LA or Vegas), i live in seattle, do i call the store and ask them to send down a bunch of rings for me to look at? not sure how this process works, but would like to see different sizes, etc before i make a decision?

There are lots of proposals at Christmas time and Valentine''s day...FYI, so your pick of stones is going to be somewhat more limited and it may be more difficult to find what you''re looking for IF you have strict parameters.

Due to the Valentines proposal peak period, I highly doubt you will see lower prices after Xmas. You will probably see lower levels of customer service though, just because vendors are so busy.

Yes, if you are making a trip to any store you should call ahead and make an appointment. You should call and ask them if there are times to avoid because of low inventory.
