Hi,

I made another thread about my e-ring: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/help-choosing-an-eternity-wedding-band.187984/ and looking for a wedding ring. I think I decided to go with a low set u-prong from IDJ. Luann said this :

The U prong with 7 pointers will have approximately 1.40 ctw diamonds and the price will be $1995 with FG SI pricescope quality diamonds in platinum. The U prong is also very comfortable we haven't had any complaints and it can be set low also

How do you think this will look with my ring? I tried on some shared prong and channel sets at Jareds (there aren't many jewelers with good selections near me) and I liked the shared prongs but it wasn't very comfy between my fingers.

Also, do you think a 1.3 ct is big enough to big blingy but not too big to overtake my ering?

And my last question, is a SI stone ok for an eternity band? For my e-ring my fiance stayed away from stones lower on the quality scale and I'm really a newb on diamonds.

Thanks so much for any input!!

Hi,

Just checking in if anyone has any opinions on this eternity band. Is a u-prong the best choice for comfort or should I look at a different setting?

TIA

7 pointers is plenty blingy.

Do you think that would be too big with my ring? Pics are in the other thread but it is 1ct with .3 baguettes diamonds on the band as well. It's about 1.9tcw. Do the stats of the IDJ ring look good to you? Is SI ok in an eternity band?

Thanks!

SI should be fine. Too big or not depends on taste. .07 could be just right for you.

Recently one member had problems with eye visible inclusions in the SI stones from IDJ. Many others have been very happy with their stones. If I were you, I'd clarify with Luann your definition of eyeclean and get an understanding of what options you have if a stone is not clean to your liking (they should agree to replace the stone at their expense). Do you know how much it costs to upgrade to VSs? If its a few hundred dollars and you can swing it, I'd be tempted to upgrade. If it meant going down in size or changing metals to stay in budget, I'd try the SIs.

Just read about your engagement ring - gorgeous!! I'd probably do five pointers or smaller with a one carat center stone if you're planning to wear them together daily. I'm a little afraid that seven pointers might be so blingy they'll steal focus! But many people with wonderful taste like larger eternities so if you're one of them, I'm sure you'll wear it beautifully!

Yes, this is the decision I'm having problems with. I've tried on rings in the store and I know I like 1ct-1.5ct but it's really hard to tell because there are not very good jewelers by me and a lot of the rings I've tried on are set very high, which I dislike. My ring is pretty low so I want an eternity band that is set low as well.

Hard decision!

I have an eternity from IDJ with 20 pointers in SI diamonds, and they are beautiful and clean. Your engagement ring sounds stunning, by the way!
