Does anybody have some? The photos don't really do it justice and it's only 4mms. The ring is too small and I don't wear yellow gold anymore. (The side stones are CZs.) The only ideas I've had are doing a bezel ring with danielm or maybe getting an emerald cut diamond and having the ruby set on top of it for a pendant. (I'm betting trying to find a matching stone would be next to impossible.) You guys always have good ideas and I'm ready for one. TIA

How much bling do you want? If you want to make the Ruby appear larger and have a substantial ring, I bought a setting from lanbo on Ebay (a triple halo) that houses my diddy Padparadscha!

If that's too Liberace for you lanbo has tons of other settings that you may like and all are reasonably priced.

I vote for the Lotus setting! Love it & it would show off your ruby well, let in good light. I've gotta find a stone to go in that setting!

Since the stone is so small, I'd vote for Liberace! Plus, a diamond halo will lighten up the color, since the ruby seems to be on the darkish side.

Whatever you decide, I would not bezel the ruby as it probably will make it darker once set.

A single-halo. Royal Jewellers on Ebay has one for a 4mm round centerstone.

I have that setting with a sapphire in it. It's gorgeous - not quite as Liberace as the treble halo (much more understated) BUT it still has presence. My sapphire is 5.7mm and is a bit big for the setting (which I think was being sold as a 6mm). I adore the DNA shaped sides on the shanks. I think you're onto a winner with the combination of your Ruby and that setting!
