No, it isn''t for me. Wish it were...but alas...

A friend of mine is getting engaged...she is looking for 4 or 5 carat stone. She likes the square cuts...asscher, emerald, perhaps cushion...

Any suggestions on how she could set it?

I''m thinking a split shank with pave would be really lovely. She likes the look of a halo, but I think with a stone that size it may be a bit much.

Thoughts from my fellow PSers?

Oh God!!!!! 4 or 5 carats....Tell your VERY lucky friend to look at Leon Mege settings. He does beautiful work...and claw prongs on a large stone.....I could just die from the thought alone.

Something that size doesn't need pave' or a split shank - the stone should just speak for itself. I would have it set in platinum with tapered baguettes at the most. Definitely double claw prongs.

She likes the look of pave and wants it on her ering...
