Ideas for FMIL''s present- jewellery

I have suggested to SO that we get his mother jewellery for christmas. The present will be from me, SO and his two brothers. We will probably spend around AU $200.

Only problem is I am not sure of her exact tastes. She is 54 and the only thing I can remember about her jewellery is that she wears gold, and a lot of rings. I know SO, his brothers and his father will be useless in this department.

Can anyone think of something that is fairly generic to most tastes, but still nice, for that amount? I thought we could get it engraved to make it more special.

this is pretty and comes in yellow gold and different stones... and of course you don''t have to get her birthstone if you just want to choose a color you know she''ll like.
