Hi guys, can anyone post some inspo or suggestions for how I can improve the design on this heart pendant necklace (Elizabeth Taylor inspo)? This was the default and it looks a bit like a fleur de-lis and maybe a bit more old fashioned and less refined/elegant but im having trouble finding inspo pictures online.

ALSO, anyone have advice on design so that it doesnt flip? Im not a huge fan of bales but lmk if you think its necessary. Thank you!

I like your design. I dont think it will look old fashion in person.

What about no ‘design’ - just plain and simple and sleek?

As for flipping - I think weight of the stone needs to be counterbalanced by the weight at the bottom of the basket.
Plus length of chain factors in there too.
I don’t know of a magic formula though.

Thanks all, and any advice to prevent 1) flipping of the pendant and 2) it traveling up and down the neck?

i think the only way to keep it from sliding up and down the neck is to do a bail rather than attached to the chain. I’m thinking a heart will not flip because the weight is more spread over the surface area.

The reason why im against a bail is because i think it changes the shape and makes it no longer look like a heart. unless you think they make bails small enough not to do that?

I have no flipping issues with this design: 20200725_161806.jpg

And when I don't mess with it stays pretty straight.

how about making it a slide pendant instead of using a bail. That would avoid it traveling up the neck like a fixed pendant. And maybe help with flipping but I'm not sure about that for a heart shape. I find my slide pendants flip less if I put them on a bit longer chain, something that hits just below the clavicle instead of right at it. If you do a slide you could change up chains too.

This won't flip. Make it stationary.

While this has bails, they’re quite invisible when worn. Last year I was chatting with a SA at Tiffany and she was wearing about a 1.5 ct round diamond pendant in this design and it didn’t flip once. I even asked her about it. We were chatting for a while and she was walking all over the store, bending down to check things in the drawers, etc. I’m actually thinking of getting my pear diamond pendant which is on a slide redone to this type of setting. Mine slides around all the time and I have to keep adjusting it to the middle—so not wanting to fiddle with my pendant all day. (It doesn’t flip though, just slides back and forth.)

I'm following this project because I adore heart pendants!
