Idealscope & set ring - throwing results?

Hi guys!

I’ve managed to get my hands on an idealscope (and an asset as it happens) and am trying to assess my new stone. I’ve had a play and everything looks great but my question is this – since it is set on a 4 prong open setting, is possible that light is reflecting off the back of the setting and making any leakage look better than it is? I’ve tried lighting it from different angles and the only time I can see white patches is when I hold it with the light shining at 90 degrees i.e. straight through the pavilion from above rather than lit from behind.

Does anyone have experience with this?
