Hello all. I was wondering where you can purchase an idealscope. I have found them online but I feel like there must be someone on the forum who would be able to part with one they have but no longer need.

Any thoughts? I''d love to work out a transaction over CL or ebay.

PS - sorry if this isn''t allowed. I am not selling anything myself, this is really just a request for help.

I think they start at $25 and maybe go to $50. Get an ideal light, too.

No, what you''re trying to work up here isn''t allowed here.

Pay the man.

It also helps him cover his postage costs for his patent on the HCA, which I haven''t heard anything about for a long time...

Thanks. If anyone spots one on craigslist or ebay, I''d love to know about it. You have to figure that a lot of people who bought one used it for a 1 time purchase. I know I will be.

It is not really an expensive tool and to try and get back the cost combine with the hassel of trying to sell it and cost to ship it, most people I would image just keep it for fun and to be able to appreciate the stone''s IS whenever one feels like it. Also it can double as a loupe.

I think most use a separate loupe from my understanding.

poor person''s loupe, if they do not already have a loupe.

Actually, if I bought one, I'd hold on to it for future purchase. I imagine many others might too.

And, it's not like they are terribly expensive at $25....

Maybe the problem is that people who bought it for 1 time use, don''t check this cite anymore. I''m sure the people who post regularly will still need their scope in the foreseeable future.

I''m waiting for the arrival of my idealscope right now. I wish I''d bought one sooner. It is definitely a great tool if you''re looking at loose stones. I hope I get to use it for that purpose sometime in the future.

I''m just interested in knowing about the diamonds I already have. The price is great. I''ve had my loupe for 25 years now, and it was $25 way back when, not a huge investment either, but again, a great tool to have handy.

Do you actually have one and use it in this manner?

What are differences between the Beginner Scope and the Expert Scope beside magnification (6x vs 10x)? Should one get an Ideal Light as well? If I''m going to view loose stones in a jewelry store, should I use an Ideal Light or store lighting alone should be OK?
