ideal time difference between appraisel and proposal?

In your experience, how much time do you think one should have between the independent appraisel and the official engagement proposal?

Unless I misread what underlies your question, the question of substance is how much time does your vendor give you to make a return, and do you need to pick vendors based on your requirements for that window to be sufficient.

Otherwise, does it matter?

Sorry for the confusion. I''m just concerned about this scenario..say you only have one week between the appraisel and proposal (obviously the appraisel should be in the return time period). The appraisel goes poorly, but you obviously might not have enough time to get another ring in that 1 week.

On the flip side, you probably don''t want the ring sitting in your closet for weeks while you wait for the proposal date.

I know there is no correct answer to this question, but just wondering what people thought was a good amount of time in their own experience.
