First-time buyer and first-time poster - looking for an engagement ring! My girlfriend has provided me with a few parameters, and I''m currently looking at the following stone:

Old Mine Brilliant
7.05 x 6.48 x 4.39 mm
Carat: 1.51
Color: H
Clarity: SI1
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: None
Ratio: 1.09
Depth: 67.7%
Table: 51%
Girdle: Thin - Slightly thick (faceted)

I have a few questions that I''m hoping someone can help clarify:

1) Table range: I''ve seen some websites that say that an "Excellent" cushion has a table range of 53-58%. However, I don''t know if this range should apply to Old Mine Brilliant cuts - is the 51% table on this stone a good thing or a bad thing?

2) Crown angles: The GIA report states that the crown angles are greater than 40 degrees. Is this something I should worry about for this type of cut?

3) Band: My girlfriend has been looking at platinum bands by Leon Mege that look similar to this:

...but I have no idea how the band would complement the stone above. Any thoughts?

4) Anything else

: I''m brand spanking new to this so would greatly appreciate any thoughts/concerns that you would like to share!

Thanks in advance for anyone''s help!!!
