Hi. Long-time lurker, first-time poster.

I was wondering if someone could please generate an Ideal-Scope simulation for the following round brilliant. Maybe I''m asking too much. (I''m just now learning about Ideal-Scope.) Thanks anyway!

0.78 carats
G
SI1

Cut Grade: Very Good

Depth: 59.7%
Table: 59%
Crown Angle: 33.0°
Crown Height: 13.5%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Pavilion Depth: 43.0%

Star length: 50%
Lower Half: 80%
Girdle: Medium, Faceted (3.0%)
Culet: None

Someone could maybe run a diamcalc simulation for you but really if you can get ASET or Idealscope images of the actual diamond it would be more useful. A simulation is working on assumptions about the diamond and various results from this proportion configuration could result which might not be representative of the actual diamond. You could ask the vendor if they can supply either of the above images..

The diamond has potential and it is very round looking at the diameter!

The diamond could show more white light/brilliance than fire but could still be a great looking rock. See if you can get images from the vendor. Also check it is eyeclean to your standards by asking the vendor and make your expectations clear so you are both on the same page. Also check the cloud isn't impacting brilliance as it is listed as a grade setting inclusion, this is rare in SI1 but best to check.

No point, unless you have the full sarin scan of the stone. With average data that you give, unless the stone has perfect optical symm, it will be different from what you will see in real life under an Idealscope.

Thanks. This is good stuff. I''ll keep educating myself.

FYI, I just discovered this tool. The Holloway Cut Adviser. Probably old news to you old-timers. Regardless, it gives me some sense of quality. ...

Use it for rejection not selection, the aim with the HCA is to score below 2 then evaluate from there with ASET/ IS images. Used in this manner it is extremely useful.
