Ideal Scope Question

I have seen a number of ideal scope images in which the stone has a white halo surrounding it. One example is the below stone:

I have been unable to find an information on what causes the halo and whether it is a negative. Can anyone explain it to me?

That is the white background behind the stone. Then they have framed the image with their brown logo background. This has nothing to do with evaluating the stone. You are looking only at the image of the diamond and what is inside it.

Here is the diamond's image from Brian Gavin's site with a plain black backgound and no halo showing. Nothing changes in the interpretation of quality.
