Hello,
Can someone tell me what is Ideal plus cut. I''ve been shopping for an engagement ring for a while now but never came across this rating. Also what is the major thing that will make one diamond shine more than another side by side in same lighting.?

Where did you hear that? Think it is an EGL grade or some marketing ploy.

‘Free’ giftwrapping?

Talk to whoever used the term. ‘Ideal’ is a badly abused word in it’s own right but someone has decided that it has met and exceeded whatever standard that they’re using. Whether or not this is useful to you will depend on the standard used.

Hi Alphagator and welcome,

I have seen this before to describe some stones, I think EGL might use it. However it is no guarantee of a well cut diamond, cut quality is THE most important component to give a diamond beauty, sparkle and the wow factor, so very important to find a well cut diamond. What I would suggest, start reading here, this is the advanced tutorial, read through the topics and sub topics and this will give you a basic grounding on the various diamond subjects and the importance of cut. Much of what you need to know is there and also you can use the search function above right as there is a lot of info in the archives.

Lastly, if there is anything you want to know just ask and we will do our best to help you.

Please provide more info and we will do our best to help.
