I''m looking at a diamond and I''m a sucker for an ideal cut. The stone is a 1.7ct Round H SI1. The measurements are: 54% table, crown angle and % = 35 & 16.2% (faceted 1-2%), Pavilion angle and % = 41 & 43.2%, total depth 62.6%. It''s got a triple 0 from AGS (certified), ideal sym & polish, but what bothers me is that 16.2%. In the AGS table to determine ideal cut a 35 degree crown angle is perfect, but the 16.2% is not in the 0 range, but rather the 2 range. How did they still grade it as a triple 0? Does the 35 degree crown offset the 16.2%? What would be a good price to pay for this stone?
Thank You.
Thank You.
