I'm currently doing research for my future setting. Just wondering if anybody bought a e-ring setting from them before and how is the quality? Thank you

Bliss bought her Vatche setting from them. The quality will depend on who made the setting in most cases.

I wonder if anybody knows a good name that I can request to have that person to make it

Are you wanting a custom setting? If so, I'd recommend Victor Canera, Leon Mege, Steven Kirsch, Maytal Hannah. The settings pictured on ID Jewelry's site come from several different manufacturers: Vatche, Henri Daussi, Gabriel and Co., etc.

They don't do custom. They do carry many designers though.

nah, I'm not looking to do a custom setting. As much as I would love to own a Victor Canera, Leon, Steven or maytal setting I just simply can't afford one. Just looking for a nice quality setting =)

anybody?

I remember Laila (?)'s halo reset looked pretty nice. I forgot which vendor she ended up going with. Check her thread(s)?

thank you, she went with eternity diamond. I will look into that =)

I think ID Jewelry can do custom work. I recall one visit seeing Tammi on a computer fiddling with a CAD.

I think that what you should do is decide on your dream setting, then submit images and details to a bunch of vendors for quotes.

My list was BGD, WF, ID Jewlery, Good old Gold and ERD. This was around August 2011
Why these vendors?
BGD b/c my mom has THREE amazing BGD halos, but the price jump made their regular/non-custom settings $1k out of my budget.
WF b/c I had bought some preset earrings in the past from them, and they had a history of nice pieces popping up all over PS.
ID Jewelry b/c I've bought things and had them modify things in the past, e.g., taking my preset WF princess cuts and soldering them onto dangles.
Good Old Gold b/c I was there getting a handful of colored stones set into e-bay settings. The woman I spoke to about settings proposed ordering a Unique Setting, but what I had in mind was moreso a project from scratch - MY CADs for MY particular ring. I probably could have had further discussions regarding other options outsiide of a Unique setting, but how about this - a dating analogy - nice guy, great boyfriend, not the ONE.

WF, IDJ and GOG and ERD were close in proposed price. They are all REALLY nice vendors with good customer service. I know that had I had further discussions with BGD, WF, IDJ and GOG, they would have all been able to produce a fantastic setting for me.

Bliss's halo was what got me interested in ERD. I remember her joking about how her halo was like a "tank" and how protected her diamond was. Now Bliss's diamond was substantially more "diamond" than mine, and frankly, if ERD was good enough for a woman with fine taste such as Bliss, ERD would be more than fantastic for me. I just worried that they would be too pricey for me. Now when I contacted ERD, I initially exchanged a few e-mails with Mark, who, b/c he was going to be out of town, gave me Chris's contact info. Surprisingly, ERD had the lowest quote in white gold AND the platinum quote was still lower than my other vendor quotes, which were for white gold. When I set up my appointment with Chris, I just KNEW that ERD would be the vendor to make my ring, and Chris would be the one to make my vision come into fruition.

I guess this is my long-winded way saying that there are lots of awesome options out there - and maybe it will be price, maybe it will be chemistry with a vendor rep, or both, but you'll know when you're in the right position to proceed with your dream setting.
