Who graded it an I1? Would GIA grade it an I2 (or I3)?

It is such a cheap stone for a reason - you just need to find out why. Then only you can answer if this type of stone is for you. As for me, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, but then again I'm the type to pay twice as much for a stone half as big.

Hi,

Certainly, nobody can give a meaningful opinion on the limited info given.

Have you seen the diamond ?

Is it close to eye clean ?

would it bother you or your intended to easily see flaws in the diamond?

If NO to the last question, would it bother you if friends of yours or your intended noticed flaws in the diamond?

Lastly, what is the return policy.

Are there any "penalties" (restocking charge) etc. ?

Do you have complete confidence in the seller to honor that policy?

Not trying to scare you out of it.

Now is the time to ask yourself these and other questions.

Only way Id consider it is if it was sent to an independant appraiser of my choice before I paid a penny on it and they gave the go ahead.
I would ask on here for an opinion on any appraiser before I used them.
The good ones tend to know each other and can you help decide if the appraiser is trustworthy.

Wow that's a cheap stone. There's gotta be a reason. I would bet it's very heavily included. The cut looks okay from the absolute basic numbers, no depth like 80% or anything...but that I1 must really be knocking that price down. Plus no cert? EGL I1 is really like GIA I12! Without the lab to give it some reputation...no way. Too frightening.

Like a lot of things in life, with Diamonds you get what you pay for - most times (not trying to start a Tiffany thread here).

If you see a 1.66 diamond for this price something is wrong. Dont give them a dime until you see the stone.

No idea. It could look good. One think I am quite sure of: this type of thing has to be seen - there is no way to tell what those inclusions look like before holding the stone. A magnified picture would be a harh interpretation of that 'look', but it would help. The relatively low price does not say much - an inflated one would not help either!

If you are familiar with the 'look' of SI2-I1 and like it, this is worth seeing, I suppose. Not too many people can put a price on diamonds - if it is a good looking I1, you will likely be the only one to know
