I have always bought diamonds that are H or I color.....I'm curious to know how different will a J color be as there is a big jump in price from I to J.

I just saw a really well cut J color, in my opinion if you’re OK with I color in a ring maybe you’ll be OK with J for studs? As you won’t be looking at it up close like a ring?
@munchee makes a good point. But be very clear - you will see tint, and J is very different from H. Also, depending on the type of mountings you set them in, the side view will be observable, where you will see more of the color. The opposite of this is that on your ears with much viewing being from afar, the front view will look bright... but in the context of a J. It also depends on the size... the larger they are the more intense the observable warmth.
I think J color is fine for studs. I traded in a J stone that was set in a ring because I could see too much tint from the side. But I bought J colored studs because I knew I wouldn’t be able to see the tint in my ears.
