Hi guys
So I think we are close to deciding that this will be my stone! Exciting but nerve-wracking...especially because we can''t see it in person first. It''s from Mark at ERD which I know is a good thing...I love the look of it but my one concern looking at the photo is the dark area in the table. Could this just be the angle of the photo or a reflection from the camera or something? Please take a look and let me know what you think. Any other thoughts on the specs are welcome too...should I go for it??

Here is the facet structure

I think it looks like a nice, lively stone! EX/EX, not too deep, smaller table; looks like another winner from Mark T! I wouldn't worry about that dark area, it's probably just a reflection of the camera lens. Most cushions with that facet pattern have that little wing-like pattern in the middle, but it's nothing to worry about. It reminds me of Neatfreak's cushion, only it's slightly less rectangular than hers. Beautiful! If it's eyeclean (which most VS2s are) I say, giddy up!

Thanks Pixley that is reassuring! Anyone else have thoughts?

Another question I have is...assuming we get the stone from ERD and the setting from Pearlmans, what is the best way to get the mounting done? For example...
1) Have Mark send us the stone so we can look at it in person, get it appraised, then send it to Pearlmans to be set
2) Have him send it directly to Pearlmans, then get the entire ring appraised when it''s complete
...or some other plan?

I know I''m naiive on this process so I''d appreciate the input! I''m not lots of mailing back and forth, but I guess it has to be done...
We can also get the setting at a local jeweler which would be more convenient but their price is higher...
