Just an observation. I tend to look for the teeny tiny little crystal that's visible in mine, and I like being in certain types of light where I can see it. And I find myself wishing it was just a little bigger or closer to the table so I can see it more often. I don't want it to be a big bogey that everyone can see right away, but.. I do like being able to find it easily. It's my little secret

How strange is that?!

Giggling with you. I am not going to say it is strange, I am just giggling.

It''s a very healthy way to look at an inclusion - they are integral parts of a diamond - whether you can see them or not - and it helps to know that it makes it ''your'' diamond! I think you''ve balanced the beauty of the stone with its little birthmark in a very good way!!

I don''t think it''s strange at all. I often pull out a loupe to look at the crystal in one of mine. I do think we''re in the minority, however.

I even enjoy playing "Spot the tiny carbon inclusion that looks like a gnat".

I don''t think it''s weird

I think it''s nice that you can appreciate the uniqueness of your stone. I''m the same way. My stone is an heirloom stone, and it has 2 inclusions that I can sometimes see in some lighting, by looking closely. I feel like they''re my little secrets, because it takes work to find them, nobody else would ever see them.

I''m not sure if I would feel the same if I/FI had actually spent money on it though, if that makes any sense ..

Yeah, an IF would bug me.
I'd never be sure it was mine.
We have a VVS1 ACA with one single speck near the girdle, which we had set near the metal of the setting.
I'm not sure why but it is gratifying to hunt for and find that speck with a loupe.

I''m not sure why some of us enjoy that! My smaller EGL graded Si1 OEC has a fleck I''ve discovered I can see with my naked eye if light catches on one particular facet in just the right way, if I have it really clean. I fiddle with it sometimes trying to get the light jussssssst right to see it. It''s a great fidget toy.

It took me months to notice, but after I noticed it, I have definitely enjoyed playing with it! My husband catches me staring at my ring and he''s like "Yes. Your ring is *still on your finger*. Stop looking at it!" I think it embarrasses him a bit when I play with my sparkly things in public, lol.

My mom always drilled into my head to learn my stones, in case a jeweler ever switched one for a CZ. My diamond has a good sized skid mark that would make swapping that stone out nearly impossible. Its comforting, in a way...

I agree with reader! As silly as it is I always have that nagging feeling when I hand my ring off to be cleaned and the comforting feeling when I get it back and can spot the inclusion only I can see!
