This is the feedback I received from the James Allen rep:

"I have to start off by saying that this is a fantastic image! The diamond faces up with edge to edge brightness as indicated by the vibrant pink hue. There is almost no light leakage to be found, and the white that is visible only lines the girdle. I always love to see this as it provides the diamond with contrast, resulting in fiery flashes. The diamond symmetry and proportions are also in the very good range. This is apparent by the beautifully formed eight arrows lining the table.

The frosting on the cake is that this is a visibly flawless SI1 diamond when viewed with the naked eye. The inclusions are internal and free of any distinguishable color or size. The diamond appears to be on the higher "J" color scale which will allow it to face up colorless in the setting. The fact that the diamond is an AGS Triple 0 only makes this diamond that much more desirable."

They make it sound exactly like the diamond I was searching for! I''m too excited to think clearly at the moment, so I''d love to hear what others think.

The image looks good, check with one of the gemologists or the rep that the grade making clouds aren''t having a negative effect, if not then no reason to not shortlist it for purchase consideration.

Thanks Lorelei

Sorry for such a silly question, but how exactly should I ask the gemologist? Should I say "Do the grade making clouds have any negative effect on the diamond?" Is there a better way to phrase it? Are there any other questions I should ask while I have him on the phone?

The report from James Allen seems to be very positive. I know they are bias in this situation, but they have reviewed other diamonds for me and I have found them to be honest when they saw visible inclusions.

Ask : "Do the grade making clouds have any negative effect on the optical performance of the diamond, or do they result in any hazy appearance in any lighting envirnonment?" It is unlikely that the answer to either is "yes" but always best to check.

They should be honest in their assessment of the diamond. If they are not, they will have a return and an unhappy customer. So it is in their best interest to be up front.

It looks very good to me!
