Hey all

First time diamond buyer, a little nervous, but very excited. I have been looking for a well cut one carrot G, eye clean, for an engagement ring.

I have been in contact with GOG for the last week or so, and have put the following diamond on hold

Do you think it was a good choice?

1.5 on the HCA (ex,ex,ex,vg)

I have confirmed that it appears "eye clean"

The DiamXray seems to show what it should for a well cut diamond.

I am wondering if I have missed anything, or those out there that have a little more experience than me suggest anything else I should inquire about.

As I mentioned first time buyer, confirmation that I got it right would put some of the nerves at ease, but at the same time, I would rather find out now that there is something I could have done better.

I think that is a gorgeous stone. What's there not to love. Nice proportions, scores ideal on everything, inclusion is hardly noticeable AND GOG says it's eye clean. It's a good thing you put it on hold because the good ones go fast. You will be pleased when you see it in person!

I didn''t even realize I said "carrot" instead of "carat" hehehe

I am not too sure why it became important to get the nod from a bunch of people I have never meet, but it was. I guess it is just that I have found your posts on other threads well thought out, informative, and helpful. Thanks again!

I think I am 85% confident that she will love this (hey, if I was totally confident that would remove some of the excitement....right?). Extra diamonds...just add a little more sparkle; besides why buy one diamond when I can buy her eleven.

I will have to post pics of the ring when I get it, and of course hand shots after she says, "Yes!"
