Hi there... my first post. This community comes highly recommended!
My girlfriend and I leave for vacation in two weeks, and it''s during that trip that I plan to pop the question... and naturally I procrastinated on the diamond purchase until just the last week or so. Fortunately a friend did a lot of legwork on this kind of purchase a year ago - including recommending this forum.
I went to a recommended seller and said that I wanted to pay $8000-10,000 for a round diamond in a simple setting (for now). I indicated that I cared more about cut and carat than color and clarity. If it isn''t visible to the naked eye, I don''t really care about it. For color and clarity I''m intersted in the "value" ranges - e.g., G/H and VS2/SI1.
I think I found a winner at about $8200 but would love feedback; here are the vitals:
Measurement: 7.11 - 7.14 x 4.44 mm
Cut Grade: AGS Ideal 0
Color: AGS 2.0 (H)
Clarity: AGS 5 (SI1)
Carat: 1.386
Few other specs:
Total depth: 62.3% 4.45mm
Table size: 54.0%
I''ve attached a picture.
What more would be useful?
Thanks so much,
Melky
